Commonly asked questions
I’m starting a new degree here and would like to receive credit for previously completed modules
For that to happen you need to apply for credit recognition. You’ll find the needed paperwork under overview bachelor biology. Already completed modules can be entered in the table there. For an overview regarding all modules contained in your degree see study programs
Who can I talk to about making sure I choose the right modules? Please refer to the Study Program Coordination
I'm currently enrolled in teacher's education in biology after changing there from the Bachelor's program. Do I need to have all my previous grades approved for credit if I want to change back to the Bachelor's program anyway?
Not necessarily. As long as you don't actually plan on completing your degree in teacher's education for biology and want to change back anyway there's no need to apply for credit. Just make sure you apply once you're changing back to the Bachelor's program again. Any modules completed while being enrolled in the teacher's education program can of course be given credit for after changing back. For further information please see our Study Program Coordination
I'm starting my bachelor's thesis soon, what do I need to do? Information regarding your thesis can be found under "writing a bachelor's thesis" on overview bachelor biology
I need to turn in my thesis today, but the examination office is closed. Where can I turn it in instead? You can leave your thesis at the porter's office in the main hall. Just make sure you get a date stamp on your thesis, to mark the date you turned it in.
Which date should I put on the last page of my thesis? Please put your assigned deadline as the date on the last page of your thesis. A dated stamp will confirm the actual date you turned it in on.
Where can I find my grades? All recieved marks can be found in the LSF on the "Transcript" page.
I have not recieved the correct grade on a course, what can I do to fix that?
Please contact us via our contact form. Please include the course (title, course ID, exam date, responsible lecturer, if it has been a retake and correct grade)
A grade from a course I took last semester has not been added to my transcript yet. Is there anything I can do?
Depending on the date of the exam (and retake exam) the processing of grades might be delayed. We thank you for your patience! If you need the grade by a specific deadline, for an application or similar manner, feel free to contact us via our contact form
I'm doing my master's degree and would like to request my transcript, how do I do that?
Please select the corresponding module selection template from our download section. For the different master programs. Those can be found under "Modules and Courses" on the corresponding Master program page. Please fill out the selected form and upload it via our contact form.
Usually, obligatory modules have to be completed until one year after the recommended semester in the module table. For a module only taking place once every other semester (only in winter/summer) that concludes a total of 4 consecutive tries. It's not possible to pause or reschedule those 4 attempts.
If a course is not completed upon the last attempt this course will be marked as failed, which usually entails exmatriculation.
The usual timeframe can be extended due to sickness with a corresponding doctor's note. In that case you have to apply for an extension (DOCX, 15 KB).
More information regarding exam deadline extensions can be found in the exam and study regulations. For the bachelor's program these can be found at overview bachelor biology
Where can I get a certificate of my study progress?
Unfortunately the examination office is not allowed to issue these. Please get in touch with the office of the University Registrar and log in to the online portal via https://www.lmu.de/en/study/important-contacts/office-of-the-university-registrar/online-portals/
